The event “An Intriguing Social Conversation with Global Leaders” held in New Delhi on August 24, 2023, as a side event to the 2023 B20 Summit, was not only a platform for a high-level panel discussion but also featured a comprehensive presentation by the Let’s Do It India Foundation, showcasing their extensive environmental and sustainability initiatives.
The Let’s Do It India Foundation, known for its significant contributions in areas such as education, environment, healthcare, and human resource development, highlighted its work in aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and its efforts in organizing World Cleanup Day, among other activities. This presentation gave attendees an in-depth look at the foundation’s achievements and ongoing projects.
Prior to the event, a press conference was held, drawing the participation of over 50 journalists from across the country. This conference served as a precursor to the main event, setting the stage for the discussions and providing media representatives with insights into the event’s objectives and significance.
The panel discussion itself, titled “India’s Rise as a Global Economic Powerhouse and the Pursuit of Sustainable Growth” was a deep dive into the multifaceted aspects of sustainable growth in India. Chaired by Professor Jaime Amoedo, the session featured eminent panelists like Minister Swatendra Sing, Mr. Adel Al Awadhi, Professor Pankaj Choudhary, Mr. Tim Thomas, and Ms. Farah London. They discussed various crucial topics, ranging from government policies and sustainable business practices to the role of technology and international partnerships in promoting sustainability in India.
In addition to the panel discussion, Minister Swatendra Sing, the Minister of Water Conservation for Uttar Pradesh, delivered a compelling speech at the event. In his address, he detailed the various sustainability initiatives currently underway in Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized the region’s commitment to sustainable development, highlighting specific projects and policies designed to promote environmental conservation and sustainable resource management.
Furthermore, marking a significant step towards collaborative efforts in sustainable development, the event concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Minister Swatendra Sing and Back 2 Business International, Let’s Do It India Foundation and The ESG Institute. This MoU represents a commitment to mutually support the sustainable growth of Uttar Pradesh, showcasing a model of partnership between governmental bodies and private sector organisations and paves the way for future collaborations and projects aimed at enhancing sustainable practices and promoting economic growth in alignment with environmental conservation in the region.
