Educational Accreditation Body

The ESG Institute offers accreditation services to institutions, educators, and organisations delivering ESG and sustainability education. This accreditation serves as a mark of excellence, integrity, and credibility, ensuring that learning programs meet global standards and contribute meaningfully to a more sustainable future.

What is an Accreditation?

Accreditation is the formal recognition that a course or educational provider meets high-quality, globally aligned, and impact-driven standards in sustainability education. It helps:

  • Build trust and credibility with learners, employers, and institutional partners

  • Ensure educational content is aligned with key international ESG frameworks, such as:

    • Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

    • EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities

    • Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)

    • European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)

    • Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)

    • Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

    • International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)

    • Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

    • UN Global Compact Principles

    • OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

    • IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards

  • Promote continuous improvement in program design, delivery, and learner outcomes

  • Safeguard learners from greenwashing and misinformation in the ESG learning space

The Accreditation Process

  1. Application: Providers submit an online application with supporting documents (syllabus, trainer profiles, assessment strategy, etc.)

  2. Initial Review: Our team screens for completeness and provides preliminary feedback.

  3. Evaluation: Independent ESG experts conduct a detailed review, with optional site visits or digital walkthroughs.

  4. Accreditation Decision: We issue accreditation for 2–3 years, with clear feedback and a unique ID and badge.

  5. Monitoring: Annual light-touch reviews and optional refresher trainings are required to maintain accreditation status.
